We want to talk today about eyewitnesses of ghosts and familiar spirits. Listen, all of that stuff that goes along with the spiritual world. And then, I want you to check out some of these videos of these people who claim that they've seen these ghosts and that kind of thing. What could they be? Are they part of the Christian genre?
Do we believe in ghosts? And yeah, you know what? God says there are things in the spiritual world that we can't see, and we're not supposed to be consulting them, but we can talk about them in terms of understanding what they are and that kind of thing. So, I wanted to do that today and kind of unpack some of these things about that.
Taking a look at 1 Samuel chapter 28, verse 7, and using that as a grounding from the very fact that Saul actually consulted a demon or a ghost or whatever it was through the Witch of Endor. And so, you know, witchcraft, again, is something that is very real that people practice. And so, it's a form of demon worship and a form of demonology, the whole world of that. And, you know, you need to be aware that these things happen. I know that a lot of times we talk about stuff that people say, "Well, it's taboo, Pastor. You shouldn't be talking about getting people saved in Jesus Christ and that kind of thing." Well, let me just tell you this, there are a lot of people who are actually bound up in this kind of cult world, and they don't have any knowledge about how evil it is or how sinister it is. They might think it's like a novelty and maybe enjoy some of these things that are going on because the church hasn't done a real good job of talking about it. We don't really just talk about it that much. You know, you have your churches where like a Life Church, you can go there, and the pastor will preach you a good sermon and that kind of thing, and he'll never touch on any of these issues about, you know, serpents and the power of the enemy in the dark world and how we have authority over that.
But again, that's what we do here. We talk about topics that, you know, are rarely talked about. They're on the fringes, kind of like topics like Flat Earth and that kind of thing. The Bible tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, rulers in the dark world. And I saw an interesting video. Let's just take a look at one of these videos that I saw. I saw this interesting video, and I thought there are a lot of, like, hoaxes and a lot of videos out there that, you know, you can say, "Well, people set that up, and they made that look like that because they wanted to get views on a YouTube video or whatever." And there are a lot of videos that are like that, you know. There are a lot of, like, fraudulent videos that are out there, you know. There are a lot of, like, fraudulent videos that are out there, but you know, this one here looked pretty interesting. It didn't seem like it was made up. So, we'll see what happens on this video. Let's read. Let's go back. Let me see if I can go back one or reboot it. Maybe reboot, reboot, reboot. There it is. There. Let's take it from the top here. Tell me what you think about this one here. You can't put away. Right. That's kind of a hot video there.
And, again, I've been in the house. I've heard things moving around and bumping around. What do you think about that? You know, those kinds of things do happen in this natural world. And in a natural world, there are very supernatural things that happen. I don't know again. I have no clue. I don't know whether or not it was real or not. There are a lot of people who just witness things and they just kind of brush it off and say, "Well, that was just something that just happened." There are a lot of things that happen very strangely and they coincide very perfectly. I could tell you one thing from my own personal experiences being a schoolteacher years ago and being in a classroom. I could tell very, I could really tell when there was a spirit in the classroom. So the spirit would go from one child to another. And then the behavior that the children would exhibit would be behavior that was above their level of ability or intelligence. It was almost like something would get into the kids and then you would wonder, you would ask them, you would really ask them, "What would possess you to do what you did?"
What do you think? The Bible certainly has a lot to say about the forces of good and evil that surround us. Could it be that our modern society has kept us from seeing that we are in a spiritual warfare? Let us be mindful of the world that exists beyond our immediate perception as we strive to be disciples of Christ.
